Visitor Restrictions Due to Flu Lifted
Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Rome Memorial Hospital, in cooperation with the Oneida County Health Department, have lifted the visitor restrictions which were first imposed in October limiting visitors to asymptomatic adults 18-years of age and older.
The incidence of influenza and flu-like illness in Oneida County has dropped to baseline levels and does not currently pose inordinate risks to hospitalized patients.
If the hospitals and the County see an increase in H1N1 influenza during the next few months the restrictions may be reinstated.
While the restrictions have been lifted, we continue to encourage our patients and visitors to avoid bringing children to the hospital unless they need medical care.
Thank you for your help during the past several months working with our patients, families, and visitors to support the visitor restrictions.
