School of Radiography Application
Requirement for New School of Radiography Applicants
The students applying for the 2013 class and thereaftermust have earned a minimum of an associate’s degree or have successfully completed a year of transfer credit from Mohawk Valley Community College or Herkimer County Community College before being accepted into Faxton-St. Luke’s School of Medical Radiography. We currently have a 1 + 2 articulation agreement with the two local community colleges which provides the appropriate degree plan to fulfill this requirement.
If an applicant possesses an associate’s or advanced degree in any discipline, it is a requirement to complete A&P I & II w/Lab and Medical Terminology in addition to their existing degree and maintain a grade of “C” or above.
The new ARRT regulation states that candidates applying for radiography certification beginning Jan. 1, 2015, must have earned an associate degree, baccalaureate degree or graduate degree from an institution accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT. For more information about this regulation visit https://www.asrt.org/Content/News/PressRoom/PR2009/arrtsetsde090918.aspx.
