Ladies Ride-a-Thon for Miracles: Event PosterLadies Ride-a-Thon for Miracles: Event PosterCalling all Lady Motorcycle Riders…we have an opportunity for you to make a difference for local children by participating in the “Ladies Ride-a-Thon for Miracles” to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare. Join us on Thursday, July 29, 2010 as local female riders take to the roads, stopping along the way at each of the eight Adirondack Community Physician Offices, where families and children are cared for each day. The ride is being organized in conjunction with our 10th Annual Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon on Lite 98.7 and updates on the ride will be provided to listeners throughout the day.

Sunset Neighborhood Joins Senior Network Health

Sunset Neighborhood, a community support program for seniors living at home, and Senior Network Health, a managed, long-term health care plan for seniors, have consolidated under the management of Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare.

Be a Blood Donor - Traveling Donor Center “BUS” at the Regional Cancer Center on Thursday, July 22, 2010

The American Red Cross Traveling Donor Center “BUS” will be accepting blood donors at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare's Regional Cancer Center located at the Faxton Campus, corner of Sunset and Newell Streets in Utica. The BUS will be in the Cancer Center parking lot on Thursday, July 22 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare, along with The Red Cross, urges current eligible blood donors in our community to give blood in honor, or in memory of, someone undergoing cancer treatments.

International Food Service Executive Association Awards Member from FSLH

Jim HockersmithJim HockersmithJim Hockersmith, a Sodexo executive chef at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare (FSLH), was awarded the International Certificate of Merit by the International Food Service Executive Association (IFSEA). The award is given to individuals who show an initiative to help an organization in ways such as interacting with the student members and participating in the organization’s events. Hockersmith, a member of the IFSEA since 2002, recently became more active within the Syracuse branch of the IFSEA over the past two years.
